Horizons OSCAR Fun
Established in 2002, Horizons OSCAR grew from the need for before school, after school and school holiday childcare programmes in our local community in Hornby, and in the southwest of Christchurch.
In 2022, we run Horizons OSCAR from four sites: Gilberthorpe School, South Hornby School, St. Bernadette’s School, and Wigram Primary School.
The Horizons OSCAR team strives to create a safe, fun and interactive learning environment for children to grow and develop skills while enjoying new experiences with their peers. Our MSD-approved childcare programmes aim to create a positive out-of-school experience for children so that parents and caregivers alike will have peace of mind.
We also understand that childcare services can be hard to come by for struggling families so we make it a priority to keep Horizons OSCAR affordable. WINZ subsidies are available for parents and caregivers, and we’ve also set up a Horizons OSCAR Creating Opportunities Fund as financial relief for families who would find it difficult to afford the full cost of the programmes.
